Port Stanley

Stanley, ou Port Stanley, est la capitale des îles Malouines (en anglais : Falkland Islands)

"Louis-Antoine de Bougainville" commença à établir des colons aux îles Malouines en février 1764.
Les îles furent ensuite cédées aux Espagnols.

Le début de la colonisation anglaise commença en 1843 sous l'égide de L'impérialiste
britannique "Richard Clement Moody", Stanley devint la capitale de l'archipel en juillet 1845.

En 1982, Stanley fut occupée par l'armée argentine durant la guerre des Malouines d'avril à mi-juin
et fut renommée "Puerto Argentino". La Grande-Bretagne a riposté en envoyant des navires de guerre
reprendre les îles. La bataille pour la reconquête de Stanley s'est tenue à partir du 11 juin 1982
forçant les Argentins à se rendre au bout de 3 jours après la perte de 649 hommes.
Les britanniques perdirent 255 soldats.
